Matt Kellett was born in Kilburn London but attended high school on the Isle of Wight. Returning to London with pal "Razzle" (Nick Charles Dingley of Hanoi Rocks fame) he got the job of lead guitarist with his high school hero legendary Sicilian rocker Johnny Thunders, of the New York Dolls. Kellett toured with Thunders in Europe Scandinavia and America and appears on the singers’ last album before his untimely death in New Orleans. He also recorded two albums and four singles with London indie band the Fallen Angels.

After the deaths of Island pal "Razzle" in a car driven by Motley Crue singer, Vince Neal, and the subsequent death of Thunders, Matt become disillusioned with the music scene and left for Austria where he worked as a nightclub singer.

Returning to Britain he studied Psychology at Brunel University. While at Brunel Matt was spotted in a University dance show and invited to teach Latin dance for Brunel Dance Society . At this time he began to work as a dance instructor around West London which funded his time at college. After graduation Matt returned to the Island to run the Psychology department at the local college and run his Latin dance clubs.

As well as a dancer and singer Matt is an accomplished actor receiving the London Academy Gold Medal for his portrayal of Shakespeare’s Henry V and recently appearing as American billionaire Oliver Warbucks in the musical Annie at Shanklin Theatre

It was while working at the college that Matt fell asleep on a hillside in Knighton and dreamed of the travelling musicians. Inspired by this first instrumental he began writing songs and music much of it inspired by people and places on the Island. While a baroque influence pervades his next song ‘Nightflowers’ he has subsequently written in various styles including rock songs and ballads which will appear on his forthcoming album ‘The Stars Like Dust’
